Our railway relies 100% on volunteers, we have no paid employees, all our staff are volunteers who give their time freely.
If you are interested in assisting us to preserve part of our Industrial Railway Heritage, then please do not hesitate to come along on a Sunday afternoon for a chat and to see what we do.
We have vacancies for people, both skilled or unskilled, who are interested assisting us.
We have painting, gardening, cleaning tasks, or
engineering, machining, woodworking, electrical or trackwork vacancies.
In addition we can offer people vacancies as part of the train operation, and provide any necessary training. Or possibly you may fancy meeting the public, by helping out in the shop, ticket office or even car parking.
You do not need to be a Railway enthusiast to find something to interest you, and you have the opportunity to meet new people.
Age is not a boundary, as many of our volunteers are retired or semi retired and find a couple of hours a week to help us.
You can join as a member, to download an application form see the downloadable form in our leaflets section of this website
